About Kumpas

Kumpas is a dance community app for discovering dancers and groups, sharing profiles and achievements, and managing group memberships. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Kumpas.

Information we collect

We store account information such as your username, email address, and a password hash if you choose password sign-in. You may add your name, nickname, birthdate, location, dance styles, roles, experience, activity status, photos, phone number, and social links. We also store achievements, group profiles, memberships, invitations, and join requests you create or participate in.

Our hosting and service providers process technical information needed to deliver the app, such as IP addresses, request information, and error logs.

Google sign-in data

If you choose Google sign-in, Kumpas requests the openid, email, and profile scopes. We use your Google account identifier and verified email address to create or recognize your account and sign you in. Your verified email can also be used for group invitations. Our current sign-in implementation stores your Google account identifier and email; it does not save Google access or refresh tokens for ongoing access.

Google may also return your name and profile picture as part of the profile scope. Our sign-in flow does not copy these into your dancer profile; you choose the name and photos you add to Kumpas. Your Google account identifier is kept in our database to recognize future sign-ins and is not displayed on your public profile.

Kumpas does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or Google contacts. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.

Google sign-in information is processed by our application hosting and database providers to operate your account. Your verified email may be processed by our email delivery service for account and group invitation messages. The retention, deletion, and contact options below apply to Google sign-in information as well as information you add yourself. Google sign-in is optional; you can register with a username and password instead.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, display dancer and group profiles, publish achievements you share, manage invitations and memberships, send account messages, and operate and protect the service.

What other people can see

Your directory profile can display your name, photos, location, dance information, group memberships, achievements, and social links. Profile information may be accessible to visitors and search engines. Phone numbers and birthdates are withheld from signed-out visitors. Contact visibility settings can further limit phone and social links to people in your groups. Group managers can access membership information needed to manage their groups.

Only add information and photos you are comfortable sharing. Public information can be copied by others, and removing it from Kumpas may not remove copies or search engine caches.

Service providers and storage

Kumpas uses Cloudflare for website delivery, Render for the application server, Supabase for database hosting, Uploadcare for uploaded images, Google for optional sign-in, and email delivery services for account and invitation messages. These providers process the information needed to provide their services. Data may be processed outside your country. We may also disclose information where required by law or necessary to address abuse and protect users.

Cookies and security

We use session and security cookies to keep you signed in and protect requests. An invitation cookie may remember a group invitation during sign-in. Blocking these cookies can prevent account features from working. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than plain text. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Retention and your choices

We retain account and profile information while your account is in use and as needed to operate the service. You can edit your profile and remove achievements through the app. For account deletion, a copy of your information, or other privacy requests, contact us below. Some records may need to be retained for security, legal obligations, or backup recovery; deletion from backups may take longer than removal from the active service.

You can revoke Kumpas access through your Google Account connections . Revoking access does not automatically delete your Kumpas account or information already stored by Kumpas.
